We move from position and motion to speed and acceleration.
What is speed?
What is acceleration?
How are they measured?
We also want to be finding interesting experiments in physics. Why are they important and how do they tie in with what we are covering? To help get the ball rolling we will look at some great discoveries and experiments throughout history in the Science Channel's presentation of 100 Greatest Discoveries: Physics.
This weeks contract has you designing a lab, demonstration, inquiry that teaches us about speed or acceleration. The best presentations will be done by both classroom groups on lab days(Wednesdays).

How fast is the fastest person in the in USA
Speed is measured in meter per second, miles per hour, etc.
Speed is the distance and time and acceleration is velocity and time.
why do things accelerate?
Speed is the measurement of how fast you are going. In the US, we use mph. In the rest of the world it is kph, kelometers per hour. The formula for finding speed is distince divided by time
I dont really understand what a vector is. Can anybody explain?
do you always have to compare two things with accceleration or can it just be one object
to find acceleration you have to find speed first which is D/T=S. Acceleration is the final velocity-initial velocity over T.
Things accelerate becuse oftherwise you could not get started moveing without accelerate.
If you were 120m up in the air how fast does it take to hit the ground.
Is it posible for an object to move without acceleration?
^Speed-how fast object goes in amount of time=d/t, measured mps
^Velociy-speed in certain direction, is a vector= has size(speed) and direction
^Acceleration-how quickly velocity changes=final velocity-initial velociy divide by time, measured mps2
speed is measured by distance divided by time. Kat you can just find the acceration of one thing if you want. Rachel a vector is an object.
lina kriket is able to run 1.5 miles in 10 min.
i walk 10 meters per 10 seconds
