Seventh Grade Week 27
This week's topic is the weather.
What causes High and Low pressure in the atmosphere? What makes the winds blow?
Hopefully our contracts will take us outside to see the weather.
A "High" is when the air pressure is higher than the air around it. A "Low" is when the air is lower than the ari surrounding it. Mr. Hoopman you use an Aneroid Barometer right?
*Air pressure is caused by movement of molecules on each other, and elevation & density affect it too. *LOW is at higher elevations because less air is pushing down on it & has less dense air. *HIGH is at low elevation and higher dense air because more air is pushing down on it
how is it that we can predict what type of weather we will be having? And if it's because of a pattern, or because we get our weather from other places; why are the forecasts sometimes wrong?
tornados are formed when hot air is pushing the cold air up and it come around and the cold air is pushing the hot air out and that makes the circular motion.

why are the jet streams curvy
ReplyDeleteHow do tornados form?
ReplyDeleteHow do hurricanes form?
ReplyDeletei dont get how there is wind and what it does to affect us??
ReplyDeleteThe wind blows because the high pressure and low preasure cause the air to move because of the different temperature.
ReplyDeletewhy does it rain
ReplyDeleteHot air makes low pressure because it rises, and cold air makes high pressure because it sinks.
ReplyDeleteIs there any other way measure the air pressure and the wind speed?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you use to tell wind speed
ReplyDeleteTo measure air prassure you use brometer
ReplyDeleteWould it be better for are world If there was no wind? What would happen if there wa no wind?
ReplyDeleteIf there was no low pressure could we be able to climb mt.everest without oxygen tanks/masks?
ReplyDeleteIf you are out in the rain, will you get more wet if you run fast or slowly walk?
ReplyDeletewids blow because of uneven heating of the earths surface
ReplyDeletewht makes the weather change? Because one day it was so warm out and it got cold out in 20 min."Thats fast".
ReplyDeleteDoes the phases before the cells splits happen with plants also?

ReplyDeleteDayton, Tornadoes are when warm and cold air meet and they start spinning.

ReplyDeleteWhat is high pressure like? Hot or cold? Stormy or not?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the difference between cyclones and typhoons
ReplyDeleteWhat is low pressure like? Hot or cold? Stormy or not?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the difference between a sunami and a storm surge
ReplyDeleteHow long does it take for a hurricane to form?
ReplyDeletewhat do hurricans and tsunname have in come
ReplyDelete:p
can hurricanes cause tidle waves
ReplyDeleteHow do ice storms form ?
ReplyDeletetornados are formed when hot air is pushing the cold air up and it come around and the cold air is pushing the hot air out and that makes the circular motion.
ReplyDeletemost tornados happen in north america than any where else in the world.
ReplyDeletehow does hot air pressure push cold air up
ReplyDeletewhat is the worst hurrican and were did it came from
ReplyDeleteHow do weather balloons predict and record weather?
ReplyDeleteHow do barometers find air pressure?
ReplyDeleteBut Ben, do you know why they form the most in North America?
ReplyDeleteHow are tornadoes and hurricanes different?
ReplyDeleteWhy is humidity measured in degrees fahrenheit?
ReplyDeleteHow do weather radars work?
ReplyDeletehow does a weather man/woman get the infomation to tellthe wearher.
ReplyDeletep.s. :p :o :( :) :
how does the radar work
ReplyDeletewhere do the weather peolpe get their information besides sattelites???
