Grade 8 Week 6: Mountains
As we continue our look at mountains we examine the other types of mountain formation.
How do mountains form where they form?
Contract Week 6 has you invent a lab or mountain formation or research a famous mountain.
Mountains form where they form because where two tetonic plates collide puts alot of stress on the other plate pushing it up forming folded mountains. It depends on what kind of mountains you want to know how they form.
One type of a mountain is a folded mountain. Its rocks bend and fold. They form at convergent plate boundaries. An example is the Appalachians Himalayas.
