Grade 7 Week 3: Multicellular Organisms

In previous weeks, we outlined the four characteristics of living things: order, growth, reproduction, and response. We looked at single celled organisms and wondered how they met these four characteristics. this week we begin the rest of unit C - Multicellular Organisms

Compare/Contrast single celled organisms to multicellular organisms?
How do they meet there needs and show the characteristics of living things?

This week's contract can be found here. There is only one choice for the A contract - to reseach any multicellular organism. If you want more choice come up with one of your own design. Talk to me about it.

Multicellular organisms have more than one cell and single celled organisms have one cell. Both of the organisms have some of the same characteristics but they have different purposes in the earth. That is what I can tell you for now haha.

can we do research on a multicellular organism thats smaller than a cat?
like a animal between a microscopic organism, to a rat?

Multicellular organisms are organisms that consist of more than one cell, in contrast to unicellular organisms. Each cell is specialized to do a certain job for that organism.

Prem
Anything that is multicellular

Single-celled organs: It all in the name. They have only 1 small cell. Multicelled organisms have multiple cells that are specilized.

which comment r u talking about?
i dont know what you mean by that.

single celled organisms are usually smaller while multicellular organisms are bigger. single celled organisms are more simple and multicellular are more organized.

Singel celled organisums have one cell. That one cell is its body.Multicellular organisums have cells running thrugh out them.

A multicellular organism has numerous specialized cells that all depend on each other to make the organism live. All multicellular organisms have blood and are much more complex than a single celled organism. They meet their needs by eating plants or animals, or plants use the sun, Carbon Dioxide, and chlorophyll, to make sugar. And, do plants use groundwater to help them make sugar also? They all breathe in some way or another, and they all get water, either through their roots from the ground or by drinking.

With this weeks contract A. do we have to make up our own multi cellular organism or use a plant animal or fungi?

Can u talk to me in the next class. I'm in your last period

Since mules can't reproduce does that make them not living?

Multicellular organisms have more than one cell. Multicellular organisms have specialized cells. Singular celled organisms consist of only one type of cell.
