First, I would like to say I miss you and I am sorry that I can't be there today and I missed yesterday. However, test is still Thursday. Where have I said that before...but I actually mean it for the seventh graders.
Yesterday you were asked to get your notes in order if you haven't already and to have one question of the day for me today. Here is your opportunity to ask me that question.
In addition to that, you are now assigned one response to one other persons question, but don't stop there. There more questions you try to answer the better shape you will be for the exam.
Remember, this exam is about the Diversity of Living Things:
The big idea to learn is how are living things the same and how are they different?
Chapter One: What are the characteristics of all living things?
Chapter Two: Compare and contrast multicellular organisms and single celled organisms?
Chapter Three: What are the characteristics of Plants from moss to flowering trees?
Chapter 4: What are the characteristics Invertebrates from sponges to arthropods?
Chapter 5: What are the characteristics Vertebrates from fish to mammals?

The sub thanks u for putting the ?'s on the blog. I miss u too. What is a protist and a trend?
Thank you for putting this all on the blog Mr. Hoopman! The sub says thank you too. Also, are protists things like algae or something else? And if they're something else, what is that something else?
Are those the only questions on the test or are they just the main points?
What are the questions on the test? Is the questions we went over in class with mr c or the 5 questions on your blog? And are there only 5 questions on the the test?

How do fungi get their energy? Do they use photosynthesis?
If birds are not mammals what are they?
Jenna, the four characteristics are the things that all living things share; they all grow, are organized, have adaptations, and reproduce.

HEY SUP? Mr. Hoopman how could you do that to us? Stick us with 2 different subs in a week!!!SHAME, SHAME,SHAME on you!!!! I just have one question... are the questions that what-ever his name is gave us 2-day the exact questions on the test or what........and what is an URL?
Why do some amphibians not have to go back to water?
Mary, viruses have to take over a cell and use your DNA to make copies. They don't reproduce.
hey what does it mean by it is ORGANIZED?? And by the way fungi don't get their energy from photosynthesis... since they are decomposers they get their energy from decomposed matter like dead animals, plants and other stuff too...
hey mary, i don't think that viruses reproduce like bacteria... they need a host cell to reproduce unlike bacteria which doesn't need a host cell to reproduce... i think maybe bacteria uses Bionary Fision to reproduce sometimes, i'm not really sure...
I copied this off of dictionary.com... hope it helps and i think that protists are single-celled organisms that use both the sun and eat stuff to get their energy...
any of various one-celled organisms, classified in the kingdom Protista, that are either free-living or aggregated into simple colonies and that have diverse reproductive and nutritional modes, including the protozoans, eukaryotic algae, and slime molds: some classification schemes also include the fungi and the more primitive bacteria and blue-green algae or may distribute the organisms between the kingdoms Plantae and Animalia according to dominant characteristics.
Courtney, Birds are just birds. They aren't mammals. Because they have different characteristics
How would you describe a host cell?
How much will this exam be worth compared to contracts?
Courtney, Birds are birds, just like mammals are mammals and reptiles are reptiles. They are all just different types of vertebrates because of their different adaptions.
What is a protist?

Mr. Hoopman, can I finish my test on Tuesday after school? I have 2 and 1/2 questions to do. And how long do we have to finish up? Does it have to be done by break or can we finish after break. Tuesday would be the only day I could stay after so I could come in during GP but I might have other stuff to do.
