This week we are looking at the characteristics and needs of all living things. What are the characteristics? What do living things need?
This week will will be setting up our class terrarium/aquariums to learn the needs of living things.
We will also be collecting some water samples to make wet-mount slides to view living cells.
All of this and Contrat 27.

There are a few things that organisms need to be classified as 'living'. They need:
~to be organized
~the ability to grow and develope
~the ability to react to the envirionment
~the ability to reproduce
~to be made of cell(s)
~to be able to obtain and use energy
All living things need to be able top reproduce and they have to grow. To grow they need some living space also. All living things have cells wether it be one cell (unicellular) or many cells (multicellular) all living things need at least one cell.
All living things also need energy humans get their energy from food that they eat. Most living things on Earth get their energy from the sun. All living things also need to be organized some how. Without their organization they would die. If any thing doesnt have all of these characteristics then it is not a living thing.

There are a fewe specific rules when it comes to living things.
1.The must be organization within the organizm to to support basic life.
2.Living things must be able to reproduce in order to survive.
3.All living thing enevitably with die at some point.
4.To be able to react to the suroundings to survive.
living things need to reproduce, adapt, be made of cells, grow, energy, space to grow, and they also need maslows hierarchy of needs.

I think that a big thing that all living things need is space! every thing else is pointless if there isn't room for them to do it.
