Seventh Grade Week 20

Like the Eighth grade, we also change gears and turn to Physical Science. We focus on Physics and begin with Motion and Forces

What is position?
What is motion?
How are both measured?

We also want to be finding interesting experiments in physics. Why are they important and how do they tie in with what we are covering? To help get the ball rolling we will look at some great discoveries and experiments throughout history in the Science Channel's presentation of 100 Greatest Discoveries: Physics.

This weeks contract has you designing a lab, demonstration, inquiry that teaches us about position or motion. The best presentations will be done by both classroom groups on lab days(Wednesdays).

ok i was trying to find out how to make purple smoke but aperenty that makes a bome so instead i found a really cool experemient on youtube on making marshmellows (well it says marshmellow but idk if it really is) it is cool. you take hydrogen preoxide + liquid soup + potassium iodide = a type of marshmellow. but idk how this happens yet. just paste the link bellow in a serch engine and watch

Position- where something is in reference to another, use reference points and latitude and longitude
Motion- change of position, measure by distance in meters

Motion is a series of potions put together to create movement.

Position= a location compared to another location. You can measure this by using reference points and longitude and latitude and also using meters.
Motion= a change of position over a period of time. you can measure this by usng meters.

we run 10 miles an hour how can we mesure this time
